I bought the Nuuk Parka this Fall (Oct. 2018). This morning in Ottawa it was a chilly minus 28 degrees Celsius, so the conditions were perfect to "really" assess the warmth of my parka. I did not layer; I just wore a simple polyester three-quarter sleeves dress shirt under my coat. And... this parka kept me warm. I am truly satisfied.
I guess someone who is not accustomed to real Northern winters (or someone who tends to be cold all the time) could have needed an extra layer under (at minus 28 degrees), especially for the arms.
All in all a great purchase. The only "con" is that I find the coat a little on the heavy side, and the fit is not great for small people (the XSmall was a bit too tight, and the Small--the one I ended up buying--is a bit too bulky).
But I don't want to end on a negative note because I love my coat! It keeps my body, arms, neck, face, head, and thighs super warm. Plus I love the vintage style.

Runs large, Best coat I've bought
LOVE THIS PARKA! It runs large, I did lots of research and read many reviews and still was confused about what size to order. I ended up ordering a XS and XXS...
I was an XXS. I am 5'3'' 135lbs, size 4, 32C.
The XS also fit me but was more bulky and the sleeves were too long for me by about 2 inches compared to the XXS... that is my main reason for going with the XXS.
This coat is still roomy enough to have a sweater on underneath, without looking like a snowman. It sinches at the waist which helps keep somewhat of a figure even with a big coat on. Super lightweight and long enough to cover my butt and not ride up when walking. Zipper is 2ways, handy for sitting in the car.
I wish this coat had armpit vents, but after all I suppose that would compromise the warmth of the coat. The cuffs are adjustable.

Best Purchase Ever
I struggled to find an extremely warm jacket that didn't use down or fur, and then I found this gem. I can't say enough about this jacket. I am someone who is always so cold, and this jacket literally keeps me warm no matter how cold or wet it gets outside. I was even comfortable in -30. I love this jacket!

My favourite parka!
I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. There were several weeks of weather below -30 C this winter and crazy winds. I usually have to walk reasonably far from my car into work on those frigid mornings. This jacket has been worth every penny for that alone. I love the hood, keeps my face and neck warm without a scarf. Others had said that it fits a bit big, but I thought that would be great for extra layers. I don't need them - this coat will keep you warm in -40 C windchill with just a light blouse underneath!

Best I've Ever Owned
I live in Saskatchewan where temperatures drop mightily in the winter.
Years ago I bought a Canada Goose and thought it was ok, at best. I sold it when they got popular, realizing I could make most of my money back. With that money, I bought this jacket, and I have to say, it puts all other parkas I've ever owned, to shame. I've never been cold wearing this jacket and even on the nastiest days, I'm not only 'ok', I'm TOASTY!
I did get it on sale, and they only had a large left. I'm usually a smedium, so I'm swimming in this coat, but don't mind one bit! I can wear layers and/or a heavy sweater and I never feel constricted like I did in the Canada Goose. It was way too puffy in the arms. I always felt like a toddler in a snowsuit.
Fjallraven, thank you for this unbeatable winter parka. I love it to pieces!!

I love this coat, it is super warm but a little heavy. One thing that did bug me somewhat was the headphone cable garage, it is made of a hard rubber like material and constantly scratched my neck quick fix with some scissors to remove it. Overall a good warm jacket.

Great investment! Hope it lasts me 10 years!
I bought a Nuuk parka from the Fjallraven Canada website a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I did, because southern Ontario decided to get real wintery right before spring! I live in Toronto and this jacket is perfect for winter because it keeps out wind and wet and cold. I still wear long johns when it's real cold outside (today with wind chill, -30 C!), but I'd rather have that option than a jacket that's too warm for most days. Also it's SO NICE to have a jacket that keeps your bum warm.
The parka is a bit boxy (most good ones seem to be) but it's obviously well made. I also like a sort of classic winter style, and Fjallraven does that well. The buttons and few embellishments are high quality - I'm also a sucker for the cute fox logo. One thing most people say about Fjallraven jackets is that women should buy a size or two down from usual, and I DEFINITELY AGREE. I'm 5'4" and about 115 lbs, more hips than bust, and an XXS size is fitted but can accommodate a few layers - perfect. My pal has a Nuuk parka and she's a bit shorter and curvier than me - she likes her size S parka's roomier fit. She's also had hers for three years and she still loves it - it looks almost new, too, even the fake fur hood trim (I'm not crazy about fake fur, but better that than real fur if you're not buying vintage...).

Perfect winter coat!
The description is right on - "keeps your rear and thighs warm" - does that and so much more! Great fabric and insulation keep the cold wind out. Plus all the pockets to hold my phone, gloves, keys, etc. Not to mention the classic parka styling will never go out of style!
