Order your normal size. Great jacket.
I read a lot of reviews that said to order down one size. And a bunch of other people saying that they normally wear a medium but the extra small fits fine. The reality is this is not a skinny fit jacket It's a winter parka. It needs to have extra room to move and fit base layers. If you only ever plan on wearing a T-shirt, or you want a tight jacket, can go down one size But if you plan on using this for variety of activities from hanging out at the ice wine festival to but if you plan on using this for variety of activities from hanging out at the ice wine festival to hiking through Algonquin you'll want to have the flexibility of a variety of base layers.
I love this jacket. Exterior fabric is waterproof and very robust so far. The inside pockets are really well designed. The two lower pockets by the Hem are big enough to easily slide in gloves scarf or hat. There's two middle security pockets for your wallet or phone. Lastly, two media pockets both with rubber grommets and cord holders.
The exterior bottom pockets have fleece lining on one side. It would be nice if it was on both. But the hand warmer pockets were fine as is.
The hood is big, but you can use the Velcro or the bungee cords to adjust it. So you get great protection and comfort. The collar is fleece lined as well so when you zip it up it does not chafe on your neck and face.
There is a bungee cord adjustment at the hem of the coat. No snow skirt or bungee as a waist adjustment. No big deal as I have not needed the extra adjustment to keep out the wind. Some other Winter Parkas need the waist adjustment so you don't look like the marshmallow man. But this jacket is fairly straight cut so it looks good.
The insulation is synthetic Is great for the damp cold where I live. Only on the super cold days is it really dry. Down would be lighter but it's nice not to have to worry about moisture reducing its insulation qualities. Plus with the synthetics I can easily wash it at home. The extra weight of the jacket doesn't bother me, it's heavy in hand but you don't feel anything when you wearing it.

Beautiful detail. Great fit. Like no other.
When you try this jacket on and wrap that warm collar around your neck, you won't ever want to take it off. I looked at a bunch of parka jackets and I'm so happy with the Fjallraven Yupik. It's what you'd expect from a Scandinavian designed product. I love how both the "fur" and the entire hood zip off, which changes the function and look of the jacket. And you'll stand out for your style against the "Goose-parka" wearing masses.

I live in Ottawa, Canada and during our cold winter months, this parka held up brilliantly. I was never really cold and the design of the parka (the length, hood, pockets) held up perfectly and were so well designed, especially the pockets. I tried on the Canadian Goose down-filled jacket but I found it too large and bulky. The Yupik is big too but no where near as cumbersome. Unless you care about the badge on the shoulder, why buy anything else? This is all the parka you will ever need.

I do a lot of research before I purchase outdoor clothing, particularly winter clothing. After all, our winters can be severe and only with the right clothing can you enjoy them. This is the best parka I have owned and at age 65, I have owned many. What I like most: The fit. The warmth. The quality. The durability. What I like least: The fur trim on the hood. It is removable so I left it with the store where I made the purchase.

Accurate Fit, Nice Style
I hesitated when it came to ordering this product, because of the conflicting reviews about it fitting too big. FR staff were very helpful and suggested that I order the size I normally wear. I'm 6'2", weigh 230 lbs, have long arms and normally wear an XL or an XLT if I'm lucky enough to find such a thing. Sure enough..... an XL fits perfectly with just enough room for a sweater and plenty of length in the arms. Very stylish and well made. Thank you.

off the scale
This is by far the warmest most comfortable parka I've ever owned. It's wonderful to not have to layer, even at -30 C, and walk as comfortably at zero with only one button done up. And it looks good!
One problem. There are so many pockets its hard to find my cell phone even when it's ringing.
One suggestion: If you call it Arctic Fox in Anglo countries you'l sell more parkas. It's a much better coat than Canada Goose, but nobody knows how to say Fjall Raven and it reads a little like an evil Tolkien bird. Everyone loves Arctic Foxes except maybe Arctic mice.

I've never been warmer.
I've never had such a warm jacket. I used to have to layer for my walk to work and now I can just wear my dress shirt in -35C and feel comfortable. I used it for snowmobiling last weekend again in sub -28C (not including windchill) and I couldn't be happier with how it performed. I was worried about it not being a down jacket but it is fantastic.
The hood makes it so I don't have to wear anything on my face for protection and I love all the pockets too (one of the reasons why I bought it) and look forward to many winters with this coat.

I bought this jacket because its stylish and comfortable. Since I got it, people keep complementing me for it.
I love that it has so many pockets and that I can take out both the hood and the fur.
So far I've used in -18 C and it worked perfectly.
100% recommended !
Just be careful about the size. I'm usually asize S in jackets, but I had to get the XS to get a perfect fit.

bought this to survive the HARSH winter in quebec. excellent coat: well made, stylish, and (important to me) not at all PUFFY.
amazing how much storage capacity is in the many pockets. i just counted: there are 12 pockets. i'll probably find another one.
one thing though: fjallraven coats are definitely 1 full size bigger than what you are used to, so get 1 size smaller than what you usually get.
i bought on a monday and received the coat on wedesday, well packed and shipped quickly.

Great for Canadian winters, it has two media player pockets for my earphones, which saves me in winter when walking home and i want to listen to my music! It also has a lining around the neck area, so the cold doesn't rush in.

I am new in Montreal and I was not sure if this jacket is enough for here. After searching a lot about it and Fjall Raven I bought it. This has been one of the best decision I have ever made. Is is less expensive than many other model and it has been warm down to -7 degree Celsius with only a T-shirt under it or if you want get sure that you will be warm you can wear a sweater under it. It is also very stylish and its materials are very high quality.
Only problem is that I usually wear a medium or sometimes large and my height is 180 cm, but I am wearing a XS size of this jacket to fit perfectly around my chest and belly!

WOW 6 stars !
J'ai consulté plusieurs «évaluation» sur le net avant de faire cette acquisition sur ce site. Voici mes commentaires :
1) excellente qualité de la finition et des composantes;
2) très grand soucis du détail;
3) très confortable et permet une souplesse des mouvements;
4) j'ai reçu ce manteau à la maison moins de 48 heures après l'achat en ligne !!!!!
5) Présentement à Québec il fait - 15 (avec facteur vents de 70 km/h) et un simple chandail manche longue était suffisant pour me garder au chaud;
6) La capuche épouse toute forme de tête;
7) La couleur est représentative de l'image (dark olive);
8) Ce modèle est fait grand. Je mesure 1,80 m et un «médium» convient parfaitement (en comparaison mon Greenland Jacket est un large);
9) Tout porte à croire qu'il fera encore sa jobe même dans 10 ans.
Bref : même s'il n'est pas en plume, je recommande fortement ce manteau aux québécois. Même quand «y fait frette en cr...» ou par temps de «gadoue».
